"Professional Griefers" en sountrack de FIFA 13

Bloc Party, Two Door Cinema Club y Kasabian son algunos de los artistas que se ofrecen en la banda sonora del juego para la próxima consola FIFA 13.
 

50 artistas de 12 países están representados en el juego donde también consta "Professional Grifers" de deadmau5 y Gerard Way.

Al hablar de la banda sonora, Steve Schnur, ejecutivo mundial de música y marketing de los fabricantes de juegos de Electronic Arts, dijo: ". Nuestras bandas sonoras de FIFA son oportunidades anuales para exhibir una lista mundial de artistas innovadores de varios géneros para FIFA 13, hemos querido dar ese entusiasmo a un nivel superior mediante la adición de energía de estrellas principales, los actos principales del indie y más canciones que nunca antes. 

FIFA 13 saldrá a la venta el 25 de septiembre en Norteamérica y el 28 de septiembre en todo el mundo.

Professional Griefers recibirá lanzamiento oficial en Septiembre.

Gerard Way de MCR hace equipo con Deadmau5 para un nuevo sencillo de baile.
 

"Proffesional Griefers" recibirá un lanzamiento oficial en mau5trap/Parlophone el 2 de septiembre.
La pista cuenta con Way en los vocales y el coro: "Just give me a life, to plea/Another world outside that's full of/All the awful things that I made".
 

Cuando la pista apareció online en Marzo, ni Deadmau5 ni Way se dieron crédito por ello. Sin embargo, se está haciendo una versión oficial y un épico vídeo promocional que se dará a conocer el próximo mes (Agosto).

#MCR: "El Fan fiction es vil"

My Chemical Romance ha calificado al fanfiction escrito sobre ellos como 'vil'.

Hablando en la entrevista en vídeo que se puede ver arriba Gerard y Mikey Way admitieron haber leído algo de fan fiction, pero no les gustó lo que vieron. Cuando se les preguntó si alguna vez habían leído Mikey Way dijo: "Sólo he leído una y era vil me prometí que nunca vería algo así otra vez. Siempre cuentan una historia, pero siempre tiene que estar el erotismo?..." Mientras tanto, se le preguntó a Gerard por qué había decidido teñirse el pelo de rojo, el dijo que "no quería conformarse con la cultura rock de los 30-algo" Y agregó: "Quería volver a donde yo estaba cuando era un niño en secundaria y en la escuela de arte, cuando estaba descubriendo cosas y rebelándome contra otras cosas. (y pensé) No llegaremos a salir en ciertas revistas porque no estamos conforme a una cierta idea de "hermosura". En otra entrevista, que se puede ver abajo, la banda reveló que invitarían a The Vaccines a una fiesta si ellos tuvieran una. Gerard dijo que el cuarteto de West London serian sus citas ideales para cenar. Contestando a preguntas enviadas por otras bandas, Gerard respondió a la pregunta: "Quienes serian sus invitados definitivos (máximos, es decir, de grandiosos, no sabia como traducir) a una fiesta?", dijo: "Precederé a decir The Vaccines, si tuvieramos una fiesta invitaríamos a The Vaccines."

Killjoys' Revenge

Last time around it ended in piss, broken glass and ignominy. In 2011 My Chemical Romance come back fighting and prove they Know how to throw one hell of a party.

LEEDS, SATURDAY

"So I come out, I look like a super creep, I have white hair, everything about me says, 'Throw piss at me'." You can call Gerard Way many things, but don't accuse him of not being self-aware. He's talking backstage at the mindpoint between two career- defining shows at Reading and Leeds 2011, remembering the last time his band, My Chemical Romance, played here, back in 2006. He can laugh about ir now.

"It's not simply, 'We got bottled because everybody in the fucking world hated us.' We had to play after goddam Slayer! 'The Black Parade' hadn't come out and nobody had heard it. So we came out and there's about 15-20 kids who were diehard metalheads saying stuff, and I am in an extra combative mood and I say... 'Alright Reading, fuck it, give me all you've got!'"

Most people in that situation  might have a little cry and move on. Not Gerard Way. Gerard swore to his brother Mikey that he wouldn't come back to this festival without headlining. He then made sure his band became amazing and popular enough to one day get booked to headline.

So when that dream came true, he did the logical thing under the circumstances and referred to Queen. Queen, you see, were famously bottled in Paris one year.

A defiant Freddie Mercury had sworn to returns as the biggest band in the world. Gerard made the only rational decision one could make in that situation: he pinched producer Rob Cavallo's phone book, copied down Brian May's email and sent a whoring message out, explaining their dilemma. A dialogue developed. Gerard posited the idea of Brian joining them onstage at Reading. Brian had various questions. It was nailed with Brian's immortal line: "Now we've got the costume sorted, the rest is easy."

Saturday afternoon, Leeds Festival, and Gerard Way is describing Reading 2011 as the greatest show of his life. So we push him for expansion. "The best shows are the ones where there's a lot riding on it and everything to lose and the unknown, you don't know what's gonna happen. All we focused on for six months was making that as bright and brilliant and wonderful and colourful as we could. I remember that last interview we did I said when the temperature is up for us, then that's when we shine and so to come out to that reaction, and to give 'Danger Days...' the proper show that it deserved - that was what was in my head when we made the record, to give it the colour and the party and the danger, just to colour up on the world."

And so it was. Having made such a big pre-show of their Fabulous Killjoys alter egos, MCR had spent their entire touring campaign playing them down. But now, Party Poison, Fun Ghoul, Kobra Kid and Jet Star make their fist ever public appearance, and yet stuttering behind the stage, smoking ill-advised pre-show fags whilke hoiking his arse-crack-chafing leather pants into a comfortable space, Gerard confesses: "We played at T In The Park and I went to see Deadmau5, and there were kids with road-flares and laser pens, and I was jealous. Because that was what I had envisaged the whole of 'Danger Days...' as being, just colourful anarchy. And that's what we got last night."

Colourful anarchy works for MCR, judging on the fireworks and pink smokebombs that greet 'Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na)' as it boings into 'I'm not OKay (I Promise)'. But what's remarkable is how they maintain that level of adrenaline after the initial expensive flourish, and everything falls wildly into place. Because pyro exists only to support the song.

Witness further comic-book-stadium redemption of 'Famous Last Words', the idiotic punk of 'Teenagers' and, for its live debut, the post-nuclear thunder-ballad 'S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W'. And that's the truth of it. At the end there's the 'Cancer' song and 'Welcome To The Black Parade' and confetti cannons. Confetti cannons!

Always good.

But what really shines is that we have truly never seen any band, ever, try and give so much to any performance ever. And that counts.

To witness Gerard, as he leaves for the bus: "I want youth, I want chaos, I want love affairs, I want people falling in love, I want people proud of their favourite fucking punk band they saw in a basement. It's what I wanted. And I got it."

My Chemical Romance se unió a Brian May de Queen en el Reading Festival

My Chemical Romance encabezo por primera vez el Reading Festival y se unió en el escenario con el guitarrista de Queen, Brian May.

 
May se unió a la banda en el inicio de su encore para tocar una versión de 'We Will Rock You' de Queen y luego se quedo para cerrar el set con 'Welcome To The Black Parade'.

 
Antes de la llegada del guitarrista, la banda habia tocado un grupo de canciones en gran medida de su cuarto álbum 'Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys'. Se produjo un show espectacular, con fuegos artificiales, rayos láser, una vídeo pared con multipantallas y confeti.

 
Way hizo alusión a los recientes disturbios en el Reino Unido durante el show. Dijo a la multitud:

"Se que algunas personas han hablado de los recientes acontecimientos de aquí, pero solo quiero decir esto. Es increíble estar aquí con gente que ama la música de una manera no violenta. Si estas enojado, no lances un golpe, no enciendas fuego sobre eso, no grites al respecto. Canta, es el arma mas poderosa que puedes tener."

Cuando tocaron en el festival en 2006 la banda fue víctima de botellazos de parte de la multitud. Pero este año, la respuesta fue bastante mas positiva, un miembro de la audiencia, Pete Smith, dijo: "Fue muy bueno, no esperaba tanto, pero me sorprendió lo buenos que estuvieron."

Otro miembro de la multitud, Andy Lilleshall, dijo: "Me sorprendió cuantas canciones de ellos sabia, fue muy bueno." Emma Grant también elogio al grupo y al invitado especial de la banda diciendo: "Me encanto y no puedo creer que he visto a uno de Queen en vivo, lo mejor de la noche."

My Chemical Romance Canaliza Sus Raices Escocesas en 'T In The Park'

My Chemical Romance canalizo con orgullo sus raices escocesas en T In The Park (10 de julio).

Gerard y Mikey Way son mitad escoceses, y antes del show, Gerard dijo a NME que siempre siente una conexion con Escocia cada vez que esta ahí. Dijo: "Creo que siempre lo llevo bajo la manga cuando estoy allí  Ciertamente me siento escoces y siempre me he sentido orgulloso de eso", antes de anadir que siempre ha puesto instintivamente sal a la sopa, una tradición caracteristica de Escocia.

Abriendo con 'Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)', MCR toco 'DESTROYA' dedicandola al artista de comics escoces Grant Morrison y su esposa quienes son amigos de la banda. El espectáculo se llevo a cabo bajo ominosas nubes grises, pero la lluvia mantuvo a raya a su conjunto.

A pesar de estar confirmados para encabezar Reading and Leeds el proximo mes, la banda toco como tercero en la lista despues de Foo Fighters y Pulp. Pero el cantante dijo que no esta mas que orgulloso de calentar para las estrellas del indie britanico.

Explico la importancia del cover de 'Common People' que hizo la banda para Live Lounge de Radio 1. Dijo: "Hicimos ese cover con total respeto del original. Es un testimonio de la musica de Pulp el hecho de que la canción significa mucho para mi siendo un recogedor de carritos en New Jersey, sin futuro, al otro lado del océano  Eso significaba esperanza tanto para mi como para todos los demás. Asi que trate de volver a ese lugar donde empujaba carritos sin futuro cuando la estaba cantando."

My Chemical Romance warm up for Lady Gaga at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend

MCR performed a storming set last night (May 15) at BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend in Carlisle.

The band, playing just before headliner Lady Gaga, delivered a 45 minute, 10-song set, which leant heavily on tracks from their latest album 'Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys'.

Opening their set with 'Vampire Money', they also played 'Planetary [Go!]', 'Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)' and 'Bulletproof Heart', their new single, which is due out next month. 

They also played three tracks from 2006‘s 'The Black Parade' and two from 2004’s 'Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge', including set closer 'Helena'.

Singer Gerard Way asked the crowd if they were excited to see headliner Lady Gaga, saying: "Are you guys excited for Lady Gaga? We are too."

Way also demanded that the crowd were "in the mood for dancing" during 'Planetary (Go!)' and introduced 'Sing' by saying to the crowd: "They’re going to try and fix your face up and make you pretty, what are you going to do about it?"

"Hicimos Glee para hacerle algun daño al mundo pop" [Entrevista Gerard Way]

Gerard Way dijo que la banda dejo que su single 'Sing' se presentara en Glee con el fin de "hacer daño" al mundo de la música pop.

En declaraciones a News Of The World, Way también dijo que la banda había escrito deliberadamente canciones pop para su álbum 'Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys' con el fin de ser "subversivos". Dijo: "La gente nos ha preguntado por que hay canciones pop en el nuevo álbum y mi respuesta es: 'Para ser subversivos'"

Al preguntarle por que la banda permitio que 'Sing' se presentara en Glee, Way respondió: "Queríamos entrar en ese mundo pop y hacer algo de daño. 'Sing' es un himno que ataca a la sociedad corporativa, y ahí esta en Glee."

Way también se dirigió a la critica que la banda recibió de parte del comentarista político de derecha de los EE.UU. Glenn Beck, que había descrito a "Sing" como "propaganda". Gerard dijo de los comentarios de Beck, "El nos golpeo a nosotros, es brillante - la canción esta atacando a quien debe atacar. Es bueno saber que una banda de rock puede tener aun ese impacto."

My Chemical Romance channelling Queen for Reading And Leeds Festivals [NME]

Gerard Way has said he plans to channel Freddie Mercury during the band's Reading And Leeds Festivals shows this year.

Way said the band took inspiration from Queen singer Mercury after being bottled during their 2006 appearance at Reading Festival.

"I said to the guys, 'I never want to play this again until we headline'," he said. "Kind of what Freddie Mercury once said when Queen were booed offstage at this festival [they were booed off stage at a show in Australia, at the Sunbury Festival in 1974]."

The singer claimed that the band's headline shows would be "something special", and that "we don't care if we lose money or break even."

Gerard Way Molesto con la Programacion de Reading/Leeds

Gerard Way quedó devastado cuando se entero de la programacion del festival británico Reading and Leeds, debido a que My Chem tocara al mismo tiempo que la nueva banda de Liam Gallagher, Beady Eye, pero en un escenario separado.

Way admite que esta encantado de estar encabezando el festival, pero se arrepiente porque no sera capaz de ver al ex integrante de Oasis tocar.

El dijo a NME: "Tengo muchas ganas de verlos (Tocar a Beady Eye). Esto es absolutamente un fastidio. Pero sucede mucho... Definitivamente me gustaría ver a Beady Eye... Soy un gran fan de el (Liam), un fan de su hermano y de Oasis, así que creo que estaré bien. Creo que todo saldrá bien."

Shockwaves NME Awards 2011: My Chemical Romance won two awards

My Chemical Romance were the big winners at this evening’s Shockwaves NME Awards ceremony at the O2 Academy in Brixton.  Winning Best International Band and Best Video, they were the only act to bag two awards.

Elsewhere, Muse won Best British Band, Biffy Clyro won Best Live Band and Laura Marling grabbed Best Solo Artist.  The most-nominated band, Oxford-based Foals, only managed to win Best Track from their five nominations, and the Arcade Fire only won Best Album from their foru nominations, which made them the most nominated international band on the evening.

Hurts beat Liam Gallagher’s Beady Eye to Best New Band while NME honoured Dave Grohl, PJ Harvey and Crystal Castles in the awards categories chosen by the magazine.

The Shockwaves NME Awards 2011 will be shown on Channel 4 this Saturday (26th February) at 11:20pm. [UK]

My Chemical Romance To Open Shockwaves NME Awards

My Chemical Romance, are primed and ready to blast open the 2011 Shockwaves NME Awards at 02 Academy Brixton in style. As the most respected music brand in the world, it seems only fitting that NME has secured one of the planet’s biggest acts to kick start and electrify the renowned annual music event. 

The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, February 23rd – gathering the best new bands, returning icons and the most influential legends to celebrate the most credible music awards in the world. Dave Grohl will be picking up his NME Godlike Genius award and will also be playing live with Foo Fighters at the event. Tickets for the event go on sale at 9am on Wednesday 26th January. 

My Chemical Romance have been nominated for four awards themselves (Best International Band, Best Album, Best Album Artwork and Best Video for ‘Na Na Na’) while lead singer Gerard Way has made the shortlist for NME’s Hero of the Year. 

The last time My Chemical Romance opened a show in the UK was at Wembley stadium (October 2010) before an NFL game that was watched by millions across the globe. 

NME editor Krissi Murison says: “We’re absolutely delighted to have My Chemical Romance opening the show this year. With their biggest ever UK arena tour coming just before our ceremony, it will probably seem like an intimate gig when the band play the O2 Academy Brixton for NME. I hope some of their fans can join us to for what promises to be a very special moment.”
