My Chemical Romance has tapped Kansas City, MO's the Architects and Provo, UT's Neon Trees as support acts for the North American leg of the band's upcoming "World Contamination Tour."
New Jersey natives My Chemical Romance are scheduled to tour Japan and the U.K. before returning to kick off the 28-city North American tour March 31 in Oakland, CA.
The tour supports MCR's new album, "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys," the outfit's fourth studio effort. Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls) produced the set.
Q&A: Frank Iero of My Chemical Romance
In a recent interview with SoundSpike, MCR guitarist Frank Iero describe the album as "a high concept-pirate radio transmission from the year 2019 after this event that happens in a post-apocalyptic world," adding that, "there's no true storyline. I like to think of it as a roller coaster ride. Like one of those Disney-themed rides. There are elements of a world that we've created, but you're kind of picking up as you go along."
Iero said that MCR plans to flesh out the concept with a series of music videos from album tracks that should surface over the coming months.
