Jimmy Eat World will play the Honda Tour date at Fall Frenzy on Friday, Sept 30 - filling in for My Chemical Romance, who refused to play the date at Tempe Beach Park as part of their ongoing SB 1070 boycott.
Tour headliners Blink-182 and openers Matt & Kim will now be joined by Arizona's own Jimmy Eat World.
My Chemical Romance, whose latest album, "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys," hit the charts last year at No. 8, are members of the Sound Strike, a coalition of artists launched last year to boycott Arizona.
This is the second My Chemical Romance cancelation of the year in Tempe, following a May 24 Marquee Theatre date that had been booked without their knowledge.
Sound Strike organizer Javier Gonzalez says the Jersey rockers have been looking into ways to play a free show here while honoring the boycott of commercial shows.
